Originally opened in 1972, Sweetwater Music Hall has been a Mill Valley staple for almost fifty years. Musicians such as Carlos Santana, Elvis Castillo, John Lee Hooker, and Bob Weir have adorned the stage at this local music venue that was once named one of the best nightclubs in America. Today, Sweetwater Music Hall is still a local favorite. Our firm worked closely with the owners on the addition of Rock & Rye; an expansive remodeled and weatherproofed 50-seat outdoor patio and 18-seat indoor classic café adjacent to the iconic 300-capacity music venue in the heart of Mill Valley.

Rock & Rye’s new patio features a warm outdoor environment with new, year-round weather-conscious enhancements such as a retractable fabric awning, ceiling-mounted radiant heaters, glass wind and fog barriers, and cozy exterior lighting. Our design yields a crisp, simple, and clean solution so as not to distract from the iconic building’s historic standing.
